Apprenticeship Program
About the Apprenticeship Program
A registered apprenticeship program preparing tomorrow’s licensed journeymen through practical and classroom training.
The Plumbing Contractors Association Apprenticeship Program is a comprehensive four-year training program designed to develop highly skilled, knowledgeable plumbing professionals. The program is officially registered with the Florida Department of Education, ensuring it meets rigorous state standards for apprenticeship training.
Participants complete a minimum of 8,000 hours—approximately 48 months—of structured, continuous on-the-job training under the supervision of licensed plumbing professionals. This hands-on experience is complemented by a minimum of 144 hours per year of classroom-based supplemental instruction. The related technical instruction covers essential plumbing subjects, including code compliance, safety practices, system design, installation techniques, and emerging industry technologies.
This balanced approach combines practical field experience with formal technical education, equipping apprentices with the skills and knowledge required for long-term success in the plumbing industry. Upon satisfactory completion of all program requirements, apprentices are awarded a Certificate of Completion of Apprenticeship, recognizing their achievement and readiness to advance as skilled journeyman plumbers.
