About the Apprenticeship Program
A state-certified program preparing tomorrow’s licensed journeymen through practical and classroom training.
The Plumbing Contractors Association Apprenticeship Program is a 4-year Apprenticeship Program. Our program is registered with the Florida Department of Education. The program consist of 8,000 hour, approximately 48 months, of continuous on the job employment and a minimum of 144 hours each year of supplemental instruction in technical subjects related to plumbing. Upon satisfactory completion of the program, the Apprentice will receive a Certificate of Completion of Apprenticeship.

Eligibility Requirements
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- You must be in good health and physically able to perform all phases of the work.
- You must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in order to comprehend instructions on the job and in related training classes, and to ensure personal and co-worker safety on the job.
- You must posses a current and valid drivers' license. The license must remain current during the entire term of the apprenticeship.

Selection Process
- Applicant must complete a registration (pdf below) and apply to the Committee.
- Each applicant is screened by the Committee or designee to make sure they meet the minimum screening requirements
- Applicants who meet the screening requirement, and are accepted by the Committee as eligible for apprenticeship, are then referred to participating employers who are hiring.
